The speaker's staff or talking stick as it is sometimes known, is traditionally held by the speaker who stand beside the chief at ceremonies and announces the chief's wishes.  The characters depicted on this art print include a Raven wearing a potlatch hat at the top, Tsaamuus the Snag in a Sea Grizzly bear form in the middle and finally a younger Raven at the bottom.
