Although most of the Arctic animals are made from stone, there are some pieces carved from ivory and whalebone. Inuit carvers use a variety of materials found in the north. The walrus head below is a fine example of a piece carved from whalebone.

One of the main game animals for the Inuit is the caribou. Interestingly enough, the caribou is not often made as an Inuit art statue.

Inuit carvers are producing some stunning Inuit art these days. Imagine displaying such a piece in your home. See Inuit statues or Inuit art prints at very affordable online prices at Free Spirit Gallery.
