This is a magnificent Pacific Northwestern Native carving of a thunderbird by George Stokes, nephew of master carver Cody Mathias of the Squamish Nation.
This carving is 12 1/2 inches by 5 inches and is signed by the carver. George carves the traditional Pacific Northwestern Native art way which shows the actual carves on his pieces much like on totem poles. These are the various bumps that appear on the surfaces of his art carvings which reflect the light in different angles as shown in the photos.
Since this is an authentic, hand-made, one of a kind Pacific Northwestern Native artwork, it comes with a signed gallery certificate certifying its authenticity.
