This is a magnificent Pacific Northwestern Native carving of a thunderbird by Cody Mathias of the Squamish Nation. Cody is a master carver and lives in North Vancouver, Canada - see Cody Mathias profile.

This carving is 13 inches by 4 inches and is signed by the carver. Cody carves the traditional Pacific Northwestern Native art way which shows the actual carves on his pieces much like on totem poles. These are the various bumps that appear on the surfaces of his art carvings which reflect the light in different angles as shown in the photos. This style makes Cody's carvings extra unique.
