This is an exquisite hand made Inuit basket with an Arctic fish carving made by Lucy Weetaluktuk of Inukjuak, Nunavik. The basket is made of the native lyme grass that is found in the Inukjuak area.
This Inuit basket is 8 3/4 inches high including the fish carving on the lid and about 7 inches in diameter. There is excellent detail on the fish carving and the black squares on the sides gives this basket a nice touch. This is an excellent example of fine Eskimo arts and crafts.
