This is an exquisite hand made Inuit basket with a bird carving made by Lucy Weetaluktuk of Inukjuak, Nunavik. The basket is made of the native lyme grass that is found in the Inukjuak area.
This Inuit basket is 9 inches high including the bird carving on the lid and about 6 1/2 inches in diameter. There is excellent detail on the bird carving and the black trimming on the sides gives this basket a nice touch. This is an excellent example of fine Eskimo arts and crafts.
